One of my favorite writers is bestselling author Geralyn Corcillo and one of my favorite books by her is
A Drakenfall Christmas.
I was thrilled when I learned that there is a PREQUEL!
More Mark and Maisy! I can’t wait to tell you about this darling new book,
UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS..and the LIFT in BETWEEN
In this novella, computer genius Maisy Potter crosses an ocean to take her dream holiday at an English country estate … where the winsome Mark Prebys works below stairs. With him, Maisy discovers a carefree happiness she’s never known. But will the troubles dogging her from back home, a secret or two whispered behind the parlour curtains, and misunderstandings to beat the band extinguish the magic they think they’ve found in each other? And if not, what happens when Maisy’s enchanting holiday ends?

Before I start my review, here’s what I had to say about A Drakenfall Christmas
“Drakenfall is a happy home to so many, a wonderful resort, a prosperous boon to the community.” And this book will be a happy read for you. There is so much to enjoy- the colorful and well-drawn characters, the story arcs of love and romance, and the hopeful message of kindness and goodwill.
Now on to my review…
If A Drakenfall Christmas is a festive holiday cake, then the prequel, Upstairs, Downstairs is a luscious buttercreme cherry-on-top cupcake created especially for you. Each bite of this story is a sugary fantasy with a dollop of whimsy.
Once upon a time…Maisy Potter came to Drakenfall, a restored English manor house that existed to make people happy as a wonderful vacation getaway. Maisy has been saving for her dream trip for five years. In her first days at Drakenfall, she is enchanted by the lovely grounds, the English customs, the scones. After a chance encounter on a “lift”, she gets closer to Mark, the charming manager who serves downstairs.
“And so it was, on that morning, that Maisy Potter finally saw Mark Prebys without his waistcoat.”
Whether or not you have read A Drakenfall Christmas which continues the story of Mark and Maisy, you know that there has to be a Happily Ever After. I was charmed by this delightful concoction. Thank you Author Geralyn Corcillo for creating sweet, endearing characters that make this a happy, entertaining read. I agree- all readers will feel the shivery delight that Maisy Potter scatters about.- Jena C. Henry
