Decisions, decisions, decisions . . .
Maris Forrester’s exciting new life is not everything she was hoping it would be. Although she’s happy in her new career, she’s plagued with the feeling that something is still missing. Imagine her surprise when an old friend presents her with an unbelievable opportunity that could change everything. This new career sounds almost too good to be true, including the upcoming trip to London. She quickly learns that even the most perfect scenarios have their drawbacks, and when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is . . .
In addition to making a life-changing career choice, Maris realizes she has other decisions to make—whom to love and where to find happiness. What if neither is what she thought they should be?

5 stars
Maris and her dreams are back in the second book of the Broadway Series. Maris wears her heart on her sleeve as she follows her singing path to New York City.
This is a character driven story and the characters are all wonderful. Maris has a new roommate, and still depends on her sister and best friend for support. I liked that she had a strong connection with her grandmother.
Maris approaches her love life with openness and possibility. In this book, she ponders her two boyfriends from the past, and a new love interest, Zack. Zack and Maris have a strong connection, possibly because he seems like Maris- creative, accepting, alive.
“I just want to enjoy the present, and right now the present includes Zack.
Along with her romantic possibilities, Maris has some interesting career choices. The coveted Broadway role she seeks is still elusive, but Maris has some solid opportunities with new performing arts companies. One of these companies, LivElle, brings together former problems from her past.
To me, the theme of the second Broadway Series is “Moving Forward”. Maris steps up her game- she learns to make more decisions on her own. From whether or not to leave Broadway, and start a new love relationship to trying yoga, spaghetti squash and gluten-free eating, Maris is ready to move forward!
She isn’t on Broadway yet- but part of her may be!
Author Baldwin writes with a humorous, positive voice and her witty dialogue and vivid scenes of New York City add to the delight of this read. Recommend! I didn’t not read book 1 (yet) and I still enjoyed this read. –Jena C. Henry
“I’m ready to take the next steps in my life, and I’m not going to look back.”
