Can you relate to this meme? You’ve probably seen it on Facebook and maybe even shared it with a friend.
And if you’re a Mom, then your brain says something like this to you every night. You may be the Mom of a 3-month-old or a thirty-year-old, or you may have grandchildren, it doesn’t matter- there’s always something to regret or worry about.
Like the time the two-year-old took our big dog for a walk by himself. But Brain, his older brother needed help in the bathroom!
Yes, Brain, I did lose a kid in K Mart, but we found him after ten minutes!
And I’ve always been very sorry that I couldn’t help my son get ready for prom because I had to carpool the younger brother and friends to an event. I did make it in time for the photos, Brain, so there!
And Brain loved to entertain me while the guys were out late with the car, or the boat.
Let’s remember all the fun trips and activities I did with the boys. We went to the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum. Plenty of excitement there, really! There was even a real fireman’s pole for the boys to slide down!
How about the time I took them on the ferry to Put-In Bay and we rented a golf cart and spent the day driving it too fast around the island. We toured Perry’s Cave, discovered by the esteemed Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry himself. I know we had plenty of ice cream and I didn’t make them go to the top of Perry’s Monument. Plenty of happy memories to review in the middle of the night, Brain!
And Brain, I don’t mind if you wake me up and we relive memories of Big Bed Night. Remember those? My husband traveled a lot, and when he was gone on weekends, those times could get a bit long. So, I invented Big Bed Night. The boys and I would go to the store, spend an hour selecting a bunch of videos (google that if you don’t remember what that was about) and then fill a shopping cart with all our favorite snacks. We would go home, eat a pizza and then lounge on my big bed together and eat and watch all the movies. Too bad, I was usually the one to fall asleep first. I remember how cozy we felt together.
And Brain, don’t forget creating a haunted walkway with scary music for Halloween Beggar’s night, and driving to see Christmas lights on December 23 every year, including the 25-foot tall Santa display. And library story hour…and seeing the Olympic torch go by Daddy’s and getting our hiking staffs for completing all the designated trails in the county one year. So many good times we could think about again, Brain. At 3 am
But, please delete the memory of me wacking at one of the boys with a fly swatter. I don’t want to see that one again!!!
