Join Hattie and Jo as they head to Southern Ireland to open Boomerville Manor, a holiday retreat for guests of ‘a certain age’. There’s Irish craic and shenanigans aplenty for the colourful cast of characters as everyone gathers for the grand opening.
Meet Melissa, an ex-cabaret singer running from her abusive husband, and Bill, a bachelor bullied from beyond the grave by the ghostly voice of his mother. Along with local bobby Harry the Helmet, ageing aquatic team the Boomerville Babes, eccentric artist Lucinda Gray, and heartthrob Finbar Murphy, they gather in Ireland and the fun begins. But murder is in the air and there’s mischief afoot. Will the residents get more than they bargained for at Boomerville?
Set in the beautiful Irish countryside, ‘Boomerville at Ballymegille’ is a heart-warming story of friendship, fears and new beginnings.

JENA’S REVIEW
Boomerville at Ballymegille by Caroline James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh, what a good book! Do you know the feeling of let-down and tristesse after you return home from a particularly lovely vacation? That’s how I feel after finishing this charming tale. I was having such a delightful time-why did the book have to end?
Readers may have met Hattie Mulberry and Jo Docherty in an earlier book about the Hotel Boomerville, but this was my first visit to their upscale holiday hotel in Cumbria. The author quickly got me up to speed in the first chapter and from that point I was all-in. This is a special story that combines love and hope, with problems and sadness, and encourages the marvelous characters to join together to make life better.
The motto of Boomerville is “to get some more memories in the bank for the days when you no longer can.” Who comes to Boomerville to relax, rejuvenate, and reimagine their lives amidst the beautiful amenities and full program of classes? You will enjoy meeting the entire ensemble of unforgettable characters. Some are feeling trapped in their lives, some are tired, and a few have plenty of hope and happiness to share.
The exciting news in this book is that Jo has decided to open a new Boomerville in southern Ireland. If you thought Boomerville life was fun in Cumbria, hop on Willie’s old green bus with Melissa, Bill, Audrey and the Boomerville Babes and enjoy even more delights (including that charming rogue Finbar Murphy). When murder and abuse threaten, spunky, solid and humorously wise Hattie handles it all.
Author Caroline James has the gift of storytelling and each page is filled with warmth and wit. You will be in Boomerville with all your friends. Enjoy these sun-filled pages, the sunshine and love. “When the elderly bus reached the end of the drive, a rainbow appeared above the gates. Travel safely everyone.”
Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources for an advance digital review copy. This is my honest review.
