There are currently 2 books in the series with a third book in the #amwriting stage. The first book is A Mistress, a Wife. I read this book last summer and here is my review. I was captivated by this lovely, lyrical story of love, life and mysteries. From my review…
“If he was involved in anything it had to be a masterpiece.”
This is an engrossing romance. You will experience the characters’ joys, intimate delights, and their deepest pains.
You will cry as the characters learn and grow. There are several plot twists, and the ending is satisfying and positive but not a typical happily ever after.
“Let us place only good memories in our treasure chest…”
I would suggest that you read A Mistress, A Wife first and then you will truly enjoy the second book in the series, Tell Me Lies; Love Me Still. Author Miller continues the complex loves and lives of the main characters. Here is my 5 star review:
“She deserved happiness or did she?”
This book is a tapestry of love and tragedy. It is the sequel to A Mistress a Wife. I encourage readers to start with the first book- it’s a wonderful read- and then read book 2. In this second book of a planned series, we learn more about the intertwined lives of the characters we met in the earlier book. This is a character driven book and all the characters are searching for love amidst lies. “She felt like the princess who had been locked in the tower without understanding why.”
In book 1 we cried through the story of the love for all eternity of Dave and Rachelle. Book 2 focuses more on the younger friend of Rachelle, Destaina. Destaina is seeking to learn who had stolen her life from her. Both Rachelle and Destaina must fight to shine the light on the darkness of years of lies that threaten their journeys to love and life.
Rachelle thought sometimes lies and secrets were best left in wooden boxes. I have to agree with Rachelle. Author Miller writes with a lyrical and literary voice but the lies and secrets in this book are disturbing and dark. This is not a frilly rom com; it is a story colored by grief and sorrow, brightened by glimpses of love and hope. “I have to walk this road alone until I recognize the direction of my heart.”
There are some lovely descriptions of gourmet meals and romance, and Freckles the dog is an endearing part of the book. Much of the story takes place through dialogue and inner thoughts. The Author is a master at creating characters that you will remember and care about. Enjoy this intriguing story! –Jena C. Henry
I’m sure you want to learn more about this wonderful author. Please introduce yourself Arline.
Born in a small town with an adventurous heart, I loved it when we moved to Chicago. I was exposed to a different living environment. Exposed to the maximum contrast to my southern heritage, I found it fascinating instead of frustrating. During my life, I have sought the contrasts of cultures and living styles. Country, island life, metropolis, foreign countries and cultures are magnets for me. Having a vivid imagination and a desire to create stories and poetry, I thrive on the unexpected scenarios a writer can formulate with interesting characters.
Not an early author but deciding to fulfil my young adult goal to write a book one day, I began my first novel A Mistress, A Wife and behind this one, Tell Me Lies; Love Me Still challenged me to continue writing. I am currently writing the third book in a series and I decided I am an author. It is in my psyche to write a journey of fictional characters which take on their own persona while encountering obstacles of suspense, romance and loss. I may have been born in a small town but I am living a worldwide life of wonderment.
Here is something special about Arline: “I designed the book covers by working with a graphic designer and I love that creative touch.”

Several men have read my books and I found one of the reviews on A Mistress, A Wife very interesting from his view point. 5 Stars on Amazon
This is an incredible story! It is a kaleidoscope of emotions, circumstances, and events which are intricately woven into the fabric of the story line. It is the kind of story that will touch each reader in a singular way; almost as if the reader is writing his or her own story based on the emotions prompted by the author. The characters, while being complex and enigmatic, are very real and believable because the author has endowed them with features and feelings that most readers can identify with on some level. This is one that you won’t put down once you start reading it.
