My Book Character Interviews Me!
My book character Charli, texted me to set up an interview. A few months ago, I had sat down with her and now she was ready to turn the tables and ask me some questions. We decided to meet by my outdoor fireplace with a nip of brandy. Before we started, I ran back in to the house for a warmer jacket and scarf and when I settled back by the fireplace and poked at the flames, she was eager to begin.
Charli: thanks for sharing the big news with me! About the reveal! The cover reveal!
Jena: Hi Charli! No warm up questions from you, we are plunging right in?
Charli: We’ll have plenty of time to dissect you- but I can’t wait to share the cover. Our third book- here it is!
Jena: So you like it?
Charli: I love it and so will everyone else! The blue is so pretty and I like the idea of the picnic basket. And the glasses of wine, of course!
Jena: The third book in my series…
Charli: OUR series
Jena: (choking on my warm amber brandy) Ok, OUR series is The Golden Age of Charli–GPS. The picnic set up and outdoor scene reminded me of travel…
Charli: But I do much more than travel in Book 3!
Jena: Yes, you do- you also travel inwardly and do some thinking about the meaning of life, the meaning of your life.
Charli: You make our book sound boring!

Jena: Maybe…but you did find someone else! Would you like some more brandy? Are you warm enough? Let’s put some more wood on the fire.
Charli: I am fine, thanks, it’s so nice to sit here with you and relax. Usually you are so busy with your social media, and blogs.
Jena: I know, and I have loved every minute of connecting with new friends from all over- I need a GPS to keep up with them all! I have good friends in Portugal, the Isle of Wight, Canada, all over America- there’s a great gang in the South!
Charli: That’s what I love about life, sharing with friends. Ok, so please start sharing with me. Before you have to go inside and make a sandwich for someone or switch the laundry, let’s do a quick round of “Favorites”.
Jena: Sounds like fun!
Charli: Ok, what’s your favorite movie?
Jena: Gone with the Wind
Charli- That old thing! Ok, favorite food. And don’t say wine.
Jena: My favorite food right now is sushi.
Charli: That’s always good. You used to make those “church potatoes”. Why don’t you make those again?
Jena: I should- they are yummy and cheesy. We should be making s’mores now, right? Those are a favorite, too.
Charli: Yep, but the brandy is fine with me. Ok, favorite song?
Jena: Hallelujah! Handel’s chorus.
Charli: Geez, are you trying to sound all fancy because I am interviewing you? Ok, you know I like to say, “Press on!” What is your favorite saying?
Jena: I have begun to ponder, “How you do anything how you do everything.”
Charli: How you do everything and anything, how? What?
Jena; Oh, Charli, you make me laugh!
The house door opens and a male voice yells, “Should I run the dishwasher?” Charli and Jena laugh louder and hug.
Charli: You have to go inside now, right?
Jena: Yes, but thanks for taking the time to interview me. And do you mind if I tell everyone that book 3 The Golden Age of Charli-GPS will be released as we speak!
