What do you do when you and your sister have grown kids and nieces and nephews, who we dearly love and see all the time online, but not as often as we want #IRL? What if many of us will be celebrating major decade birthday milestones in the coming year, from 30- 70? (BTW- the upcoming 70 birthday is not me! Not that there’s anything wrong with 70!) And what if this sister is generous and creative?
My dear sister spent a year planning our wonderful week at Disney World – she handled everything from travel, to hotels, to group restaurant meals, and then there are the Disney passes and Fastpasses. She’s a pro now if you need any Mickey advice. And believe me, you will if you haven’t ever planned a trip to the Magical Kingdom, especially for a big group.
We were 11 Mousketeers strong! My sis and her husband, me and mine, 3 of her kids, 1 of mine, and 3 of the kids’ significant others. They all flew to Florida, from Ohio, and California. My hubby and I drove down and spent a long weekend in Tennessee before meeting everyone in Orlando!

Here’s a quote I found online:
If there’s one thing I have learned over the past 25 years on my trips to Disney, it’s that the magic doesn’t come from the place — it comes from the people you go there with.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, it’s in Disney World that I make the best memories with my family. It’s there that I’m reminded about the very meaning of family. Thanks to https://www.popsugar.com/smart-living/Why-Do-Adults-Love-Disney-43810641.
I am sure that all of my family would agree. And they were all troopers!! They met every morning early for breakfast and hit the park of the day until we met for a late dinner. 6 days of non-stop Disney!
True Confession Time- The fairy dust hasn’t quite settled on hubby and me. We did not go to any of the parks, but we loved meeting the family for breakfast, dinner and late game nights!
Actual Conversation with one of the Gals in our family:
Gal: “What did you do today while we were at Hollywood Studios?”
Me: “We went to the hot tub.”
Gal: “Nice! (Pause as she waits for me to go on.) Is that all you did?”
Me: “Yes.”
But we made happy memories, too and we were delighted to share in the family vacation fun!
Thank you, Sis for creating this magical time for all of us “Disney Delights”!
I’d love to hear about your Disney memories, or any other special family time!
