I’ve fallen in love with Sue Marie and Miss Olive and all the other doggies at The Doggie Diva Show. Miss Olive appears in two storybooks now, and in addition to inspiring children with her “Tales and Tails” she has her own special story.
Thank you so much for caring about Miss Olive’s story. Poor Olive was a victim of severe abuse – her “owners” were arrested and jailed and rescue organizations called in to get her and the other dogs out and obtain much needed medical care. Through 8 years of neglect with the abusers those poor pups -with Olive – all were living in deplorable conditions in outdoor cages. Once rescued, Olive lost all of her teeth due to lack of medical care and her leg to cancer. We adopted her shortly after her amputation. She continues to have many health issues but she has such a beautiful spirit and gentle heart – she seems unaffected

Miss Olive Finds Her “Furever” Friends: The Doggy Diva Diaries by Susan Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Young and old and everyone in between will be charmed by the second book in The Doggy Diva Miss Olive series, “Miss Olive finds her “Furever Friends.” Look at the cheerful and appealing cover and you will fall in love with Miss Olive. She’s the spunky, cute gal wearing a “celebrate me” birthday hat.
Each delightful page tells us Miss Olive’s story. Her dream has come true. She has a furever family and furever home. What more could she want?
A special day comes! Miss Olive learns about her birthday and what it means to have a special day. There are plenty of kisses, hugs and smiles from Miss Olive’s humans. Miss Olive sees lots of balloons and learns that she will celebrate with her friends.
Oh, there’s a big party at the Dog Park! Miss Olive is so cheerful until two dogs with “pouf dog hair” say unfriendly things to her. A friend sticks up for sweet Miss Olive and the dogs all celebrate and “woof it up”.
Readers and young listeners will be delighted with this sweet picture book. “Miss Olive” features lyrical language and a pleasing rhythm which gives it that “read -aloud” appeal. “Read it again please!” The illustrations are professional, colorful and engaging, with many delightful details. My favorite picture shows all the happy dogs at the dog park. You can see their names on their collars. A young child would love to learn all their names and point to the different dogs and breeds.
Children will learn new words and ideas. This book is a gentle way to introduce some tough topics- unkindess and bullying. Miss Olive learns that “It’s the kindness and love you have on the inside that counts.” Every child should be given the gift of love and knowing that people “celebrate me”.
Calling all grandparents, aunts and uncles, moms and dads! This book comes in paperback and hardback and would be especially perfect for a birthday gift.
Many thanks to the author for a review copy. This is my honest review.
