As I write this in late March, 2020 under Corvid-19 Virus “stay at home” restrictions, I am thankful for friends who remind me that sunny days are always with us, when we stick together. My Florida photo, above, shows the mix of sun and clouds we are all experiencing now.
You may recall that Jessie Cahalin nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award a few weeks ago. She is one of my dearest friends and I was delighted to share sunny times with her.
Then the clouds of the virus swept in, but a new golden opportunity came to me as well. Veronica Cline Barton nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Woo hoo! Thank you Veronica for thinking of me and for giving me the chance to share some sunshine again.
Veronica is the author of the “My American Almost Royal Cousin” cozy mystery series, with four entertaining and popular books published, and a fifth book on the way! Here’s the book I read…(yes, the rest are on my stack o’ books)! I loved the cover, the story, the characters, the whole glamorous world of Castlewood Manor.
Veronica is also a witty and fascinating blogger. She shares her travel, dining and life experiences, along with featuring authors and their books. I look forward to her words and photos each week. Veronica is warm, giving, smart, a bon vivant and totally glamorous!
Veronica is at the top of my “Authors I want to Meet in Real Life List.”
We spend about 5 weeks each year in Orland at our favorite timeshare. Lovely grounds and pools are in close proximity to two world-class hotels. Heaven, for us. We spend plenty of time on our lounge chairs, but we also walk, talk in the hot tub, enjoy some special dining, and regain that wonderful feeling when life slows down.
Right now, it’s pajamas. Last summer I had a few special events to attend, so I treated myself to a new outfit- a vibrant jumpsuit! I felt so young and trendy!
Believe it or not, Veronica, I have been thinking about this, especially now that I am at home. Time to learn something new. My top choices are “opera”, “birds”, and “math”.
As I’m sure you know, there are many styles! “Mid-Century Modern” describes means fits me! Clean, smooth lines, organic function, materials and colors that blend with the environment. Simple, sophisticated, with a flair, that’s what I aspire to be. Palm Springs, California represents Mid- Century Modern, another place that I hang out!
As they say all the time on the news interviews now, “Great question!” Writing and speaking are my best skills and the skills I enjoy using the most. I would like to get better at each.
My husband does, I don’t! And based on a quick Gooogle search, polls show that there is a 50/50 split on whether or not the little green men exist.
My sister had been wanting to do a podcast, so we started one this year!! Too much fun. We want everyone from Millennials to Boomers to be happily OK! Here is a recent episode- from when we were in Florida. Ok Boomer Podcast is available on all the podcast apps.
Winter snow or sun and sand?
We receive a nice amount of snow here in Beautiful Ohio every winter. Pretty to look at, especially during the holidays. But I prefer clear skies and sun, by a pool, not sand.
Outlander or Downton Abbey or ???
Ever since the owner of a small bookstore persuaded me to give the Outlander series a try, even though I insisted I wasn’t into “woo woo” time-travel books, I have been a dedicated fan of Diana Gabaldon’s big books. The TV series is to slow for me, although there are some powerful scenes (and by “powerful”, you know what I mean.) I saw every episode of Downtown Abbey, but Outlander wins!
I am now supposed to nominate other friendly bloggers and list rules, etc. But in these trying times, I am going to say- if you are a happy blogger, or anyone who feels like lighting one little candle, then share a positive post on social media, send a greeting card, call a friend.
