This is a story about Angelique and Zeke, the couple. And it’s also a story about Angelique and Zeke the band. And then there’s Angelique the person, and Zeke the person. If you’re a bit confused just remember their brand: Love. Or better yet, look them up on Snappigram if you don’t already follow them. “Being a success is all about branding.”

Yes, one of my favorite humor authors Holly Tierney-Bedord has set her sights on social media. With her quick wit and a touch of sarcasm, we are treated to the hopes of a young couple who dream of making it big. Angelique and Zeke lead busy lives- writing songs, performing in small coffee houses and posting photographs of their day, with the correct filters, on Snappigram.

Performing folk hop or folk techno music, Zeke brings the lumbersexual vibe and Angelique rocks the forest nymphs, waifs, nineties edge. But when they meet a sketchy agent, are their lives about to change? Will they get more followers, will their videos go viral? You will laugh at their quirkiness as they journey from “annoying” to “jaded, cynical and wise.”

The searing humor is spot on in this quick-paced book. In addition to Angelique and Zeke, you will shake your head at the oddness of their various extended family members. And I always like to find the little gems of wit in Ms. Tierney-Bedord’s stories. How about a gerbil ball that tracks the gerbil’s steps? Enjoy this book and stay true to your brand!
