Update: I wrote this blog in the gloom of February. Now that it is summer, I am enjoying the sun, blue sky and breezes- but my favorite place is still my home! Home is where I cheered on the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first NBA championship. Home is where I look for new blooms in my garden and new recipes for the grill.
When I do venture out in to the world, here are some additions to my travel destinations:
Here’s the blog post that started my thinking about traveling:
February is the month of love. When the dog bites, when the bee stings, it’s a wonderful time to pause and remember the activities you love. Who doesn’t love to travel?
Me. I love to stay home. I love to be near my family, which includes my dog Oakley, and those other people that live with me. I prefer to view life from my front porch, my favorite foods, chairs, paintings nearby, with a pleasant view of the passing world.
I don’t have any phobias; I am just content in my world.
You can do it all in sunny Palm Desert – or you can sit back and do nothing at all. From five-star resorts to budget-friendly hotels, world-class golf to incredible art and architecture, Palm Desert is an oasis of excitement in the heart of Southern California’s famed Coachella Valley. As you can imagine, I prefer to sit back and do nothing, except read by the pool and hot tub and dine at upscale restaurants. Oh, and gaze at the breath taking mountain panorama.
“The Q” is Northeast Ohio’s premier sports and entertainment destination located in the heart of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. I go to cheer on the Cleveland Cavaliers as they strive for an NBA Championship and I thrive on the hoopster excitement .
Whether it’s my neighborhood store, a national chain, or a mom and pop shop, I love to browse the produce, meats, spices, bakery- the whole store- to discover new and delicious tastes. Many times I find something delectable that the checkout clerk didn’t even know was in the store!
There’s so much to love in Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands! Whether you prefer a getaway that includes lazy days at the beach, fishing with friends, and bicycling around an island, or one filled with exciting thrills like roller coasters, waterslides, and parasailing, the Lake Erie Shores & Islands is the ideal destination for families, retirees, honeymooners- and I have been all three! Beautiful coastal scenery, fish shacks to gourmet, and all the fun in the (sometimes) sun- makes my summer perfect!
Yep, nothing better than a walk with the husband and dog. We watch the changing seasons, say hi to the neighbors and catch a lovely sunset.
Here’s another trip I would like to learn more about. My friends are now on a Great Circle Loop cruise- circumnavigating the eastern part of the United States. They don’t mind if you call them loopers. Enjoy their fun and fact-filled blog. I like to read it as I sit on my front porch. But I hope to hook up with them at some point on their route and get a little loopy myself.
February has been called the Month of Mud. Make it the month of dreams- and plan your favorite getaway.
I am a writer, blogger, book reviewer, and bon vivant and encourager. I have lived my entire life in Tropical Ohio. My goal is to make friends with everyone in the world. I wrote a fiction series, The Golden Age of Charli, that presents the problems and praises, and the love and laughter of family life and retirement. My passions are blogging, reading and reviewing, and writing. My life is a WIP.
