Dogs love the Pandemic. They are the only creatures who do! Why?
Think about it.
Before the pandemic, most of them stayed home alone, while their humans faced a long commute and a full day at the office. What did these doggies do? They slept on the couch, investigated the toilet paper roll, slept on their master’s bed, barked at the delivery person, slept under the dining room table, sloshed the water in their bowl, and slept.
And now, the dog’s day was full of joy and happiness. He could play sneak into the office and bother Mom while she’s on Zoom. He could be shoved off the couch by the kids who now watched tv all day. He could walk with Dad, who was always on his phone talking about business.
But the doggie could also look lovingly into Mom’s eyes, when she cried because she couldn’t visit Grandma. He could play “keep away” from the vacuum while the kids did their chores. And he could rest his head on Dad’s knee, while Dad shuffled the pile of bills.
The dog loved his family every day. He didn’t care if their hair changed color, or grew shaggy. He didn’t mind if they all wore pajamas- cozy and cuddly is good
And the dog could sleep each night, dreaming with little barks and twitches, and know that he was truly his family’s best friend.
He’s a new member of our family. Here’s what he enjoyed during the “stay at home”.
He relaxed on the porch and watched us work in the garden.
Then he slept.
Island helped us wash the car.
Then Island snoozed in the sun.
Next, Island thought about traveling again.
Time to fit in another nap.
Boat ride with the Family!
And just because he’s so cute, here is Island as a baby doggie .
